I have experienced ringing in the ear for the past eight or nine years. I understand how natural it can be to get the “hopeless” stage. I’ve been there. It’s hard to describe to others what it is like to not have silence in your life. The noise(s) can be quite maddening and the medical community, including specialists in this field just don’t seem to get it. My first doctor said to come back in a year for another test. It nearly brought me to tears right there in the office. I confronted him and told him that something different had to happen. I couldn’t just go home and do nothing about the noise. I needed help and if he couldn’t give it to me then help me find someone who could.
